Episode 5: X-Men Matters…But Why Tho?

Listen hereDownload here

On today’s episode, we talk about one of Marvel’s most well-known and influential series: The X-Men.

We’re joined by a super special guest Ryan (@RyanSmellers) from our PAX recap episode. He talks about the comic book history, including some of the most creative authors, illustrators and a Rob Liefeld. Kate then uses her comic studies/acdemic background to talk about how the comic stopped being a comic and started being an allegory for numerous minority experiences. Adrian makes the argument that X-Men: The Animated Series is reason we get Bruce Timm Batman and the animated comic universes. Tom invites us all to play a game about the 9 films in the franchise.
